Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are! BRC Is Recruiting New Board Members!

Bisexual Resource Center is recruiting volunteer board members local to the Boston area!

Established in 1985 as the East Coast Bisexual Network, we are a Boston-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization on a mission to help build a world in which all love and lives are validated. We seek to uplift and celebrate the bi+ (plus) community (which includes people who are bisexual/romantic, pansexual/romantic, queer, fluid, no label, etc.) through events, resources, and supportive services, raise awareness about bi+ (plus) specific issues, and share our personal experiences and professional expertise with people across the country and around the world.

Since Trump’s election, organizations and movements like Bisexual Resource Center have been strategizing and reprioritizing our goals. We know that we must change our tactics with an unpredictable administration.

In the same vein, we are also thinking critically about the ways in which we can better serve our communities. The bi+ (plus) community’s intersecting identities run the gamut. Likewise, so too must the board membership of organizations that seek to uplift, represent, and support the community. If we’re going to do this, we must do it right.

As such, BRC is especially seeking new board candidates who are transgender (including non-binary) and/or people of color and Indigenous. We acknowledge that we have not done our due diligence regarding representation; we want to rectify this as best as we can.

If this work aligns with your values, you are willing and able to travel to Boston a few times a month, and especially if you are transgender, non-binary, a person of color, and/or Indigenous/Two Spirit and identify as a member of the bi+ (plus) community, please check out our recruitment page here. We are especially looking for people with writing and editing skills with express interest in working on our blog, programming and events, and/or marketing.

We look forward to working with you and cementing our commitment to the bi+ (plus) community in its entirety.

Sincerely,

Current Bisexual Resource Center board members
